Heart of Manchester
Manchester Center, Vermont
About the property
A perfect house for every season located right in the heart of beautiful Manchester, Vermont. Bromley and Stratton are 15 and 25 minutes away, respectively. Despite being minutes from the center of Manchester and close to all the action, the home has plenty of privacy, and plenty of space. The inside features seven bedrooms—including four with en suite bathrooms—and two additional full bathrooms to accommodate multiple families and friends, with ample room and accommodations for up to 18 individuals.
Outside, the home has a deck with a large screened-in porch, with plenty of seating and a perfect way to watch the sunset while being protected from the elements. Under the deck is a hot tub with an incredible view of the mountains.
There is also a large backyard that is perfect for a catch or a pickup game of football, and a firepit for sitting around and roasting marshmallows. Plenty of trees provide shade in summer, and create a spectacular display in fall when the leaves start to change. There are also plenty of flowers and natural plant life which attract hummingbirds that you can watch zipping by. The view from the yard is picturesque, bring your camera!
The interior of the home is tastefully decorated with an eclectic array of colors, in keeping with a rural Vermont aesthetic. The main level is open with a great common area with a fireplace, a high ceiling, and huge windows for plenty of natural light.
The kitchen is large with plenty of granite countertop space, perfect for serving buffet-style meals, and a granite center console with stools that is ideal for breakfast. The appliances are stainless-steel and the wood cabinets and drawers are stocked with the items you will need to prepare your feasts.
The lower level has a TV, entertainment system for games and movies, a foosball table, an air hockey table, and plenty of room for the kids to play.
The Perfect Day
The mornings on the mountain are simply majestic and must be experienced, wake up with a hot cup of coffee or tea, put on a jacket if it is chilly, step outside, take in a deep breath of fresh air, and witness a Vermont sunrise. You will know you are finally on vacation.
Then, it is time for some fun or relaxation. If you are here in winter, and since you are so close to the mountains, you can either spend the entire day at the mountain, or you can break it up into a couple of sessions—return home and have a light lunch and soak your muscles in the hot tub, for example—before heading back for an afternoon or evening of fun shredding snow.
For warm month visitors, you can head into Manchester and check out the famous horse show, which is in the summer months, or you can do some great fishing, ideal in spring when the fish are bulking up after a long winter of fasting, or you can go hiking in autumn to catch the spectacular changing of the trees. You can grab the clubs and play 18 at The Equinox Golf Resort, or bring the kids to the Dana L. Thompson Memorial Park and let them run around and burn off all their energy.
Or, you can have a relaxing day in. Grab a good book and some wine and step out onto the porch and do some reading, or if it is too cold, curl up in front of the fire and allow your favorite author to transport your mind. If you are feeling creative, you can break out the paints or sketchpad and capture a beautiful view from the home, or perhaps click away on the typewriter free from distractions.
As the day comes to a close, you can head into town and grab a meal, or make use of the kitchen and show off those culinary skills! You can start a fire in the fireplace, or better yet, grab some dry fallen branches and get the firepit going, perfect for sharing a toast and great stories with friends, or roasting up some marshmallows for some s’mores! The hot tub is also very inviting as the sun is setting, as well.
With seven bedrooms, everyone can spread out and do their own thing as well. The kids can take over the lower level, giving the adults some privacy.
