On the bottom floor is the game room, with a newly-felted pool table, ping-pong table, shuffleboard, and a bar with a chess and checkers board built right in. There is also a pellet stove which keeps the home nice and toasty, wood pellets are provided.
The main floor has wide-open floor plan, with a small bar, kitchen table, family room, and an entertainment center. The entire house is tastefully and intimately decorated, filled with knick-knacks collected by the owners over the years. There is also a sun room and screened-in porch.

The Perfect Day
Wake up and enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea on the back deck or screened-in porch as you take in an incredible view of the new day. You can either cook up a delicious breakfast for your group in the state-of-the-art kitchen, or head into town and find some brunch. Then head to the slopes to shred some snow, or grab those clubs and hit the links, or your fishing pole and test your skills as an angler on the best lakes and rivers that Vermont has to offer.
There are several wineries and breweries to tour, art galleries to browse, and local artists to support, if that is more your speed. Pair your purchases by visiting a local farm or cheese factory.
As the day moves into the evening, you can head into town to find a great restaurant or bar. If you prefer to cook, complement the food you purchased at the grocery store with fresh fruits and vegetables you selected at the local farms, and serve with your paired beverage. Remember to fill up the pellet stove in the basement, it will keep the house nice and toasty! Then set up the chess pieces for a tournament, or get the shuffleboard ready, or rack up the pool table, with bragging rights on the line. For those looking to relax, serve a round of your favorite beverage as you and your group have a lovely conversation on the large outdoor deck, or inside the screened-in porch, as the grill cooks a delectable cut of steak, and watch as the delightful Vermont sunset announces the conclusion of the day. Then gather around the entertainment center before a restful night’s sleep in the incredibly comfortable beds.
For the creatives, the property will provide plenty of inspiration, peace, and stress-melting relaxation to get that next great idea front in center in your brain, capture it and write it down or paint it before it is gone!
The house is located on a private and secluded 10-acre estate in the picturesque village of Peru, Vermont. Yet it is close to anything you need or wish to do: ski mountains, grocery stores, local farms, festivals, restaurants, bars, shopping, and more are a short drive away.
Manchester is a Vermont “big little town” that has many things to do. Art galleries are popular in Vermont, and if you like supporting local artists, there are plenty of places to peruse for the next item for your home. There are spas, restaurants, bars, and tiny places to window shop.
Looking for discounts on top-of-the-line clothing and accessories? Manchester designer outlets are perfect for you, and they offer great restaurants with incredible views to accompany you during your shopping spree.
Want something more active? Manchester has the Land Rover Experience driving school, the Orvis Fly Fishing school will help you sharpen your angler skills on the best lakes and rivers Vermont has to offer, and the Orvis Shooting School will teach you the Churchill technique of shooting which will help you nail that next trophy or bird.
In the winter enjoy skiing at the nearby resorts of Bromley, Magic, Stratton and Okemo. Bromley Mountain, only 5 minutes away, is great for kids as well as for novice and intermediate skiers. It is so close, you can even go back home for lunch, and then back to the mountain under an hour! Two excellent cross-country skiing centers, Wild Wings and Viking Nordic, are less than 10 minutes away. There are also options for snowmobiling. If this is not enough, Manchester and its surrounding areas offer several unique and unforgettable sleigh ride experiences, including dogsledding.
In the summer enjoy numerous hiking or cycling opportunities nearby. Bromley Sun Mountain Summer Park offers family adventures for the whole day of fun including New England’s longest zipline, Vermont’s longest water-slide raft ride, America’s longest triple-track Alpine Slide, climbing walls, mini-golf and much more. There are also local farms that offer incredibly fresh produce, eggs, baked goods, and meats, all with the ethical treatment of their land and animals in mind.
The Dorset Summer Theatre Festival, Vermont Horse Show and Southern Vermont Art Center are nearby.
We are sure you will find this home to be suitable for everyone in your party—there is so much to do, both inside the house and in the area! You will love it, and won’t want to leave!
