About the property

A gorgeous home that defines the word luxury itself—it has everything one would want on a Vermont vacation. Ample privacy yet only 5 minutes from Stratton Mountain, incredible views that will take your breath away, and plenty of space to comfortably sleep 20 guests. Packed with amenities for visitors of all ages and interests: a hot tub, game room, a huge professional kitchen, arcade system, library, projector movie room, and coming in summer 2019, a swimming pool! The home is perfect for a family reunion, several families or a group of friends who wish to vacation together, a luxurious corporate retreat, or anyone who wishes to enjoy the pinnacle Vermont experience.

The Space

The home is named “Whispering Pines Lodge” and was made with only the best materials, appliances, and electronics, and is constantly improving. A recent renovation converted the garage into an incredible game room with a pool table, ping-pong, air hockey, foosball, electronic dartboard, a bar, and a huge wall-hung scrabble board. The renovation is also installing a swimming pool in the backyard, a perfect hangout place in summer that has a great vista.

Everywhere you turn, you will find an amenity or feature that was incredibly well thought out, made with pristine craftsmanship, with no corners cut. The hot tub is well maintained and has a breathtaking view, there is a sauna for those who like to steam or bake their muscles instead. An outdoor firepit is great for toasting with friends and sharing stories. A reading library is packed with classics for all ages and interests. An arcade system on the third floor comes with instructions and controls for up to four players. There is a movie room on the lower level that has a projector and a library of movies, as well as a PS4.

There are six bedrooms and a couple of lofts nicely spread throughout the house. The lower level bedroom has a king-sized bed and a private bathroom. The master bedroom on the second floor has an in-suite bathroom, and the third floor has an amazing bedroom along with a small sun room and a private balcony. A couple rooms have bunk beds, which kids really, really love. Every bed will have fresh linens, and every bathroom will have plenty of towels and paper products upon your arrival.

The kitchen is a dream come true for anyone who even has a slight interest in cooking. The appliances are tippity top-of-the-line: a Wolf stove with six burners and a flat grill, a huge Sub-Zero refrigerator, two sinks, two dishwashers, and beautiful custom cabinets. There is a ton of marble counter space. And for the grill master of the group, a Weber grill is on the deck outside.

Next to the kitchen is a dining room with a table that sits 10-12, and next to the dining room is a cozy family room with a fireplace. Nearly every room in the house has huge windows that allow in tons of natural light. And last but not least, there is a wrap-around deck on the first floor that has lots of seating, perfect for reading or having a nice conversation.

The Perfect Day

A morning cup of coffee or tea is in order, step out onto the deck, or if it is too cold, stand close to a window and watch as the Vermont sunrise announces the start of the day. There will be no mistake you are already on vacation.

The Wolf flat grill is perfect for cooking up a great breakfast or brunch, it is large enough so that you can have your bacon or sausage in one area, a pile of hash browns in another, and still plenty of room to cook up some fried eggs. Or you can make a huge number of pancakes all at once, topped with butter and Vermont maple syrup of course!

After breakfast, it is time to get ready for a day of fun. Winter guests are so close to Stratton Mountain that you can break up the day into multiple ski sessions—after a late morning ski, spend lunch at the house and soak your muscles in the hot tub, for example, before heading back in mid-afternoon or evening. Or you can ski all morning and afternoon and spend the evening enjoying the amenities in the house, or heading into town for some nightlife.

For fall guests, the view from the house is incredible, you can enjoy the autumn foliage from the comfort of the home, with a hot cup of apple cider to sip on and keep you warm as you sit on the deck. You can get some exercise by walking around the back yard, where you can see the changing forest up close, where the smell and sounds will melt away the last drop of stress. There are also plenty of mountain roads you can travel down and pull over to take the perfect picture that you can frame for your house.

Spring and summer guests may want to consider a day in, but that doesn’t mean just sitting around. There is a backyard which is perfect for games—football, soccer, a game of catch with a baseball or frisbee. After working up a sweat, a dip in the pool is in order. Or you can catch up on literature and grab a book from the library, find one of the many great places to read, and enjoy a quiet privacy as some of humanity’s best authors take your mind on a trip.

As the sun starts to set, that is the perfect time to start a fire in the firepit—by the time dinner is done, the coals will be perfect for roasting marshmallows, or you can throw on some more wood and share an after-dinner toast. Those with sore muscles can head back to the hot tub for a sunset soak, or the sauna for a steam. Then host a tournament in the game room or around the arcade system, or you can end the day with a movie on the projector.

This is the beauty of Whispering Pines Lodge, everyone can find their little slice of paradise. The home supports a wholesome family vacation where everyone does everything together, or an eclectic one where everyone has their own experience and then shares over the dinner table!

The Neighborhood

Stratton Mountain is five minutes away, Bromley is 17 minutes away, and Mt. Snow is a half an hour away, three great mountains that provide plenty of slopes for those longer ski trips. You are also a very short distance away from Stratton Village, a cozy little mountain base town that has shops and a bit of a nightlife for those who like to go out and make someone else do the cooking. You can also purchase or repair ski and snowboard equipment, or get some winter clothing that you may need.

Bondville and Rawsonville are also only minutes away, and Jamacia, which has amazing restaurants, shops, and stores with everything you need is less than twenty minutes by car. Every Vermont small village has the standard amenities—great places to get a sandwich or pick up a few things for the refrigerator, small shops, and so on—while having its own unique flavor.

Over the mountains and through the woods is Manchester, one of Vermont’s best towns that has great eateries, lovely art galleries and shops, Lincoln’s family home and museums to visit, an off-road driving school (Land Rover Driving Experience), and schools that teach fishing and shooting techniques, perfect for the sportsmen and sportswomen in the group.

Local farms offer incredibly fresh and delicious produce, eggs, meats, cheeses, and baked goods, perfect for use in the great kitchen! Berry picking season is from June to October, and the blueberry festival usually runs from late July to early August. Perfect in salads, pies, or just as a snacking handful, with plenty of varieties, from super sweet to sour.

You can pair your produce purchases and meals with local wines and beers, either directly from the wineries and breweries in Vermont if you are willing to travel, or in the shops you can find in town. It is a great way to support the local economy, and make great gifts for a house/pet sitter, or for friends and family who were not able to make the trip.

We know you will absolutely love this home, its incredible views and pristine location and privacy!

Gorgeous home, great amenities, close to mountain

Our group of 5 families had a wonderful stay. The house is well appointed with books, board games, popcorn machine, projector tv, DVDs, sauna, hot tub and a large game room to keep the kids (and adults!) occupied. The kitchen is well stocked and the layout is great for a large group. The drive to Stratton is super quick and easy. Dimitry is quick to respond and very easy to work with. Would love to go back!

Totally and completely satisfied, thanks so much!

This was one of the best Airbnb experiences we have ever had! We stayed at Dmitry's VT home for a girls weekend away - there were 18 of us total, and this is the first time this group has traveled together where everyone had their own bed, towels, linens, etc. as promised by the host - every other time, the host has fallen short, but not Dmitry! The house was pristine, and everyone was blown away by how well cared for the home was. We would recommend this home to anyone looking for a house large enough for a big group, where people can gather together, or find their own room to have some time to themselves. The kitchen was incredible, and we spent most of our time in here, all gathered around the huge island. We also made great use of the hot tub and sauna, and the projection screen in the finished basement. The fire was already set up - all we had to do was light the match! We hope to come back again!!!

This was the perfect home for a recent company outing. Had all the pleasures of any high end home. Everything was in working order and we used just about everything. Also conveniently located to Stratton Mountain We will definitely consider this home for future events.

Crazy good place.

This house is insane. It has every entertainment thing you can imagine. The hot tub and sauna are great after a ski. And all 20 of us had a bed/pullout sofa spot to sleep on.

Gorgeous place, wow!

One of the best places I have stayed at. Beautiful, large, excellent view, completely tech'd out, and up to date. Plus the host, Dmitry, is very responsive and eager to help. Everyone enjoyed their stay and we would highly recommend it if you are looking to stay in the area.
