Spacious Convenience

Manchester Center, Vermont

Minimum Stay

2 nights

About the property

This spacious home with a private pond is owned by a non-profit, Credo Co. for Sustainable Life, which specializes in increasing the independence of differently abled individuals in Southern Vermont. All of the bedrooms have in-suite bathrooms, with plenty of space to sleep 9 guests comfortably. Close to Manchester Center, the summer horse shows, golfing, and Bromley Mountain, this home is perfect for a family or group of friends year-round.

The Space

The home has five bedrooms that are very spacious and have large windows that allow in plenty of natural light. Every bedroom has its own bathroom, five and a half in total, perfect for several couples vacationing together so they can have their own space. Four of the bedrooms are in the main house, including a master suite. The fifth bedroom is above the garage, with its own private balcony, bathroom, and living room with four fold-out couches and plenty of space for games.

The beds will have fresh linens when you arrive, and the bathrooms will be stocked with plenty of towels and paper products.

The kitchen is large with plenty of counter space, perfect for serving up buffet-style dinners or complex meals that require a lot of room. There is a center console that has the stove, and a few stools which makes for a nice place to put out breakfast. The dining room is right next to the kitchen, close to a lot of big windows and has a great view of the property.

The main level has a wide-open floor plan, the family room is next to the kitchen and has a large flat screen TV, a fireplace, lots of windows, high ceilings, and access to the deck. There is also plenty of storage rooms throughout the house, each bedroom has a closet, which is perfect for those renting the house for longer trips or who may have a lot of gear.

The lower level has a game room with a door to the backyard, a foosball table, an air hockey table, and a piano keyboard.

Outside there is a wrap-around deck, with a big backyard, a firepit, and a private pond! The garage has space for a vehicle, and a sink which is perfect for rinsing off hands after a day of fun outdoors!

The Perfect Day

Since you are so close to everything, you can sleep in to catch up what you have missed during your busy life, and still have plenty of daytime left to enjoy all of your activities! For early risers, after brewing up a pot of your favorite blend of coffee or tea, take the short walk down to your private pond and welcome the new day!

After a delicious breakfast or brunch, it is time to head out! The horse show is so close you can pop back and forth from the events and the house, or you can grab some clubs and head to the links. There are great places for fishing in the area as well.

For winter guests, Bromley is a short drive away, which means you can either spend all day on the mountains and get a ton of skiing in, or you can break it up into a late morning and afternoon session, spending midday to grab some lunch or do a little shopping.

And if you are staying in the warmer months, don’t forget to grab some fresh produce from a local farm on your way home, or do some berry picking! The organic fresh eggs are a special delight, the golden-yellow yolks make for great omelets, or you can fry or scramble.

After a day of fun, you can head into Manchester for some shopping and to grab a delicious dinner. For the chefs, the kitchen has the things you need to make a feast for your crew. Then you can gather around the TV in the living room and catch a favorite movie, or perhaps one that you missed, or perhaps curl up in front of the fire with a good book from a great author. Then it is time for bed, and some rest for another day of great Vermont fun!

The Neighborhood

Bromley Mountain is a ten-minute drive away, Magic Mountain and Stratton are less than a half an hour away as well, three great places that provide plenty of slopes for those spending an extended ski vacation in Vermont!

The Manchester Golf Course is only three minutes away by car, which means you won’t have to wake up super early to catch a morning tee time. There are also several farms in the area, North Meadow and Culver are within minutes, and there are several more you will pass going to and from the home.

For fishers, the local species are bass, pike, and perch, and they also stock trout as well. There is an Orvis Fishing School that can teach you fly fishing, and there are several places to pick up tackle and get a local’s guide on the best places to fish during your stay. For the history buffs, check out the American Museum of Fly Fishing in Manchester.

Home base will be Manchester, a lovely and quiet mountain town that still has plenty to do. There are tons of places to eat, from pizza, to breakfast nooks, to farm-to-table restaurants. Tons of shopping, with art galleries and stores where you can browse the local culture and perhaps pick up a memento for the home, or a gift for a house/pet sitter. It is also a great way to support the local economy and keep new art flowing!

You can have a thrill at the Land Rover Experience Driving school, or catch the sights and take pictures while on the Manchester Riverwalk, exploring Merck Forest, or riding the Backroad Discovery Tours. Discover President Abraham Lincoln’s birthplace at The Lincoln Family Home. Bring the kids to the well-kept Dana L. Thompson memorial Park for play time. Enjoy this wonderful town’s seasonal music, arts, theatre, and local cuisine, as well.

We hope you enjoy your stay at this wonderful house while you take advantage of the best Vermont has to offer.

Roomy house north of Manchester

This bright and sunny house just outside of Manchester was perfect for our family gathering. There was plenty of room for everyone and when we hosted others for meals, no one bumped into another. The house is well equipped and comfortable. Communications with the property manager and the owner were excellent and immediate. I really appreciated the text messages in advance that ensured a link in the event of any issues. I would highly recommend this house to anyone, especially bigger groups. It was great!

Beautiful views

We rented the house for Thanksgiving - hosting friends and family. It was very comfortable for 14 at dinner, with plenty of dishes to host the meal. The house is situated on a private street, looking out at the mountains. The house was very convenient to restaurants and shopping. There are plenty of walking trails within a few miles of driving.  Everything was great. We were even given access to the garage so we didn't have to scrape ice from the car windows :) As we were leaving, my 14 year old niece asked if we can come back in the summer. Receiving approval from a teen is priceless!

Fantastic weekend with a big group

Could not have been happier with this rental for a group of 15 for a long, summer weekend in Vermont. 1 mile from town but still incredibly secluded and quiet. Beautiful yard and fantastic place to hang out on the porch or play games on the lawn. One huge living area for the group to hang out and eat meals, but also bedrooms with privacy, quiet, and their own bathrooms.

Dmitry and Bryan we’re easy to work with the whole time and incredibly responsive. Would absolutely recommend this place and Manchester in general!
