Beaverdam Lake is your destination for outdoor activities such as fishing, hiking, biking, horseback riding, picnicking, and walking. They host an annual “Canoe Jam,” featuring canoe and kayak races, kid’s sprint relay, and a “fun paddle” on their 2-mile and 4-mile courses. Contestants can compete to be timed and the results are recorded on their official website. They also host Big Bash Open Bass Tournaments throughout the year with winners receiving cash prizes up to $1,000! The park hosts events and programs for the whole family throughout the year—nature camps, youth archery, full moon night fishing, nature walks, women’s self-defense classes, and Kayaking 101 for adults.
Experience an ideal day on the beach at the Gloucester Point Beach Park with its warm sand and clear water. There is a large and shady grass area perfect for picnics and sheltering from a sudden rainstorm. The beach has smooth sand which is perfect for sunbathing, swimming, wading, sand castles, and fun beach games. There are convenient restrooms, outdoor showers, and a concession stand for snacks and drinks. You can launch your boat and enjoy a day of fishing on the water, or you can cast off the beautiful pier. You do not need a fishing license to fish off the pier which is perfect for the kids to spend hours on end reeling in the catch of the day.
The Green Hand Farm Park is much more than just a farm, there are all sorts of fun activities the whole family can enjoy! Kids can test their wits with corn mazes, jump on the biggest bounce pillow in the country, test their speed at the “Barnyard 400” pedal kart track, race ducks with water pumps, bounce in large inflatables, get caught in a 20 foot wide rope spider web, climb on piles of hay bales, take a ride on the “Redneck Roller Coaster,” have their face painted, and giddy-up on a pony ride. Adults can enjoy a “Zombie Paintball Survival Course Adventure Ride,” “Foggy Bottom” haunted maze, shoot cobs of corn at targets with corn cannons, shoot water bottles at targets with a high-pressured launcher, and satisfy their hunger at the southern-style BBQ. The park is open year-round, and the Fun Park Season begins September 28th and ends November 4th. Green Hand Farm is a must visit during the Autumn season!
